Parliamentary Ombudsman Petri Jääskeläinen has chosen Doctor of Laws Jari Råman as a substitute for Deputy-Ombudsman for the term 16 June 2023 – 15 June 2027.

Under the law, the Parliamentary Ombudsman chooses a substitute for the Deputy-Ombudsman for a maximum term of four years after having received an opinion on the matter from the Constitutional Law Committee. In its opinion, the Constitutional Law Committee was in favour of appointing Jari Råman.

Råman is the Secretary General of the Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsman. He has previously acted as the Deputy Data Protection Ombudsman at the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman and as Chief of Information Management and Chief Data Protection Officer at the National Police Board.
