After using strong identification to identify yourself, you can file an electronic complaint using the form located in the secured messaging service.

An electronic complaint can also be filed without identifying yourself. However, confidential material can only be e-mailed to persons who have identified themselves.

You can also file a complaint using a complaint form in PDF format. When you have filled it in, you can send it to the Parliamentary Ombudsman by post, e-mail/secured mail, or you can deliver it to the Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsman in person.

Anonymous complaints will be recorded but they will not be investigated.

The Ombudsman does not investigate

  • a matter currently pending before another authority, unless it is a question of, for example, delay in the processing of the matter or the conduct of a public official
  • a complaint concerning a matter older than two years, unless there are special reasons for an investigation

If you are complaining by writing a letter, it should include at least the same details that are given on the form in PDF format.
