Outcomes of complaints in 2010


Decisions that led to measures totalled 782 in 2010. This was 
19,5 % of all decisions arising from complaints and matters investigated on the Ombudsman's own initiative (17,4 % the previous year).

No prosecutions for breach of official duty were ordered. 49 reprimands were issued and 667 opinions expressed. Rectifications were made in 46 cases in the course of their investigation. Decisions categorisable as proposals totalled 20.

Measures taken by public authorities:
- labour 18,8 % (33,0 % in 2009)
- prisons 28,6 % (29,7 %)
- customs 19,5 % (26,3 %)
- environment 20,3 % (26,0 %)
- defence 32,5 % (24,2 %)
- education 20,9 % (22,0 %)
- police 18,7 % (19,8 %)
